head wear...

I don't get it. Why when people get married do they feel the need to wear something on their head. It seems people feel the need to have something on their heads, if they don't wear a veil they have a fascinator, a hat, fresh flowers, a garland, headbands or hair jewellery. I know sometimes it finishes off the outfit or is part of a tradition they feel is important but I struggle to see why people feel they must have something in their hair, and stress over what to have. I'd love to see more people shun the bridal head wear, if its not right for you let your hair be naked I say.

Full discloser: I'm not going to be going naked, I'm going to wear a birdcage veil over my eyes, no feathers or flowers, probably just a brooche to hide the combs. Why, not because I feel I feel I have to wear something on my head but because it finishes off the look I'm after. I really want a vintage old world glam look.

Drew rocked the veil like the one I will make, though I think it will be a little smaller, only about halfway down my nose. Image found on www.dailymakeover.com

Anyway the reason I bring this up is because my MOH really wants to wear something in her hair, (she all has a desire to make everything matching). So what to do, I don't want to tell her not to wear something in her hair if she wants to but I don't want her to dress everyone up in matching head bands that look great on a 12 years but not so chic on a 25 year old and it needs to suit the outfits, I really don't want it to look out of place.

So now I'm searching for cool head wear, I never thought I'm be doing this, worrying about headwear... for bridesmaids. Anyone got any ideas.

Shoe love

I wasn't joking when I said I had a thing for shoes. I love them and in the process of looking for my wedding shoes I've found to had to my wish list, and todays 2 would have to be pretty high on that list.

I wish these Mimco badies came in a colour, I'd snap them up in a second (and figure out how to afford them later). The strap details is great, not over the top like so much of what I've been seeing.

Found on www.mimco.com.au

I'm keeping these shoes in mind as a back up plan incase I can't find red shoes I like. they would make really cute wedding shoes and i'd definately warm them all the time. Love the vintage feel.

dripping in jewls

I still haven't had any luck finding wedding jewellery yet. Originally I wanted art deco style jewellery, however I'm not having much luck finding anything that I either like or that's in my budget.

So I've been thinking about pearls, I wouldn't want anything too traditional, I like the idea of wearing a number of different string in all different sizes like this. Than I could get a bracelet similar and antique style pearl earrings.

kick up your dancing shoes

I could imagine myself kicking up my heels int these babies. A friend of mine has a pair (without the hearts) and says they a super comfy. Shoes that are comfy and have a super cute heart up the front would make a perfect wedding shoes, the bonus being they are totally wearable after the wedding. i just wish they had a red pair with black or white heart.

Love it Love it

Love this, great great, great colour, great accessories.

This is the colour I want for my BM. The bracelet is an interesting idea as well, formal but casual, I could do something like this for the wedding. Would give me that relaxed, formal, playful, not overly planed up together took, might be a bit more me than what I have been looking at.

Standing tall

more shopping. I'm not just looking for flats but heels as well. What I've found so far.

Love these shoes by Kate Spade - but I don't think my shoes budget will stretch to $400

These would great great with my dress but I swear they are the tallest shoes I've ever seen, it would be like walking on stilts and I'm sure I'd fall over.

These could work but I'm not sure I'd ever wear them again, and I want shoes I'll wear again.

These from nine west are great - good colour, under budget, nice height - but I'm getting married in December and it will be hot it may be very hot so I'm worried they will be too closed in for winter.

If I was going to wear white shoes these would be the shoes.

Every girls weakness

I admit I have a weakness for shoes, when you can't find anything else you look good in you can always find a pair of shoes. I love a good heel however I don't wear heels for any extended period of time. This is were my problem lies, wearing my heels and being on my feet for 5-7hour on my wedding day dosen't sound fun - however heels make me taller which I need for photos and I want for the ceremony and I will stand taller and straighter in them. So I'm getting heels but I'm also going to get a pair of flats to change into.

With all the sales on this week I thought it would be a good time to look for shoes found a fe good deals on flats.

I'm going to go out shopping again this weekend and have another look, hopping to find a better deal. but if I can't find anything, I'm thinking I'll go with the last pair. I realy like them and I'll wear them to work after the wedding.

If I could have..

100 wedding rings this would be one of them. I've very happy with what C and I have chosen for our wedding bands, but I love this ring. The contrast between the warm natural wood and the cool clean metal is so nice and its just so unique.

expensive taste

I have expensive taste which isn't helping me with planning a wedding on a budget.

I got money from family and friends for my birthday this year to go towards jewellery. I've started looking for earring for the wedding - I'm wanting earrings and a bracelet if I can afford them. So far I've found 2 pairs I really love found the second pair today - really amazing, now all I need to do is find something similar but 1/2 the price.

Bling

C and I went shopping on the weekend and looked a ring options and tried some on to get a better idea of what we wanted.

C found this cool ring which I love, not what he 1st looked at but he really liked the look on. Getting it quoted now for this in titanium with a little diamond in the middle.

Also looked a options for me and C decided it had to be a diamond band, cool it was the guy insisting on diamonds, not the girl this time, I have to admit he's right the diamond band looks heaps better than the plain band. But we still need to decided on white or yellow diamonds for me.

The bling

This weekend C and I are going out to look at rings. We'll be having them made by the same person that made my engagement ring, but we want to go out and try a few different types on see what looks best. This is the ring C got me, he design and had it made for me and I love it, its perfect and soooooo much more than I ever asked for.

Its a light yellow diamond in the middle and we are thinking of haveong a band of tiny light yellow diamonds for the wedding band, but need to go try some different options on and figure out what we can afford.
