its Friday, and I've got lots planed for the weekend. Night I'm making more vasesand I'm designing some jewellery, making hair combs for the girls and a quiet dinner with C, before a big day on Saturday. Bridal shower in the morning - unfortunatly with so much on this weekend (weddings, engagment parties, surgeries, people working or overseas) we don't have many people coming, but afterwards I'd hopefully headed to the beach for a bit before sign making, vase making, jewellery making, shopping, jar scrapping and many other crafty projects. More of the same on Sunday plus shopping with Mum.
Busy, but hopefully C will come away from the books for long enough for us to do something fun together, I don't like it when he works and studies so hard, I hardly get to talk or spend any time with him. And with C studying I'm bound to get lots of wedding jobs done and off the list, the list seems to be getting smaller quicker these days very exciting. Got heaps done with week, has lost to write about - when I get more time.

stealing it
I love these invites, and I'm going to steal them, well not quite steal them, just the idea - illustration on brown recycled paper coloured really brightly. We already have an idea for the wedding invite, going to follow along the same theme as the save the date, but I think we can work this in for the Saturday brunch invites.
I could do all of this myself but I really like the idea of having people help to create the our day, so maybe I'll ask a friend to do an illustration for me. I'm not sure, it would be fun to do the illustration myself and everyone is so busy, need to give that one more thought.
Found on oncewed.com

Success
Things are hectic at the moment so this is just a quick one to show off my success. After the last amussing attempt at creating a vase I've had success. Dad and I pour a vase on Sunday and it looks really cool. We still have a few little kinks to work out but for the most part we have it sorted and can get started on making the rest. YEAH team.
I just need to do some sanding and polishing.

Party time
Let me introduce you to some friends of mine Aaron and Lenya, you might know Lenya from www.7yearwedding.blogspot.com. Saturday night we celebrated their engagement and BJB studios in Surry hills, Lenya did a great job decorating and really bring the place to life, with pom poms, installations, vintage furniture, candles and beautiful flowers created by cousin Mattew (sorry don't have any more details than that.) They really managed to infuse the place with lots of personality and it made the perfect stage for a great party.
So without further adue,
Meet Aaron and Lenya, the photoboth was a great talking point and got everyone into the swing

Pom pom Love, multicoloured pom poms hang the entire length of the studio and made the place pop.
These where all made by Lenya and family and friends.

Lenya borrowed white chairs and bought second hand chairs and painted them white to fit with her vision.
She also used pieces from the studio itself and made it personal with her own pieces from home.
This master hang from roof above the bar creating a eye catching focal piece for the room.

The pictures don't do these arrangements justise , Lenyas cousin Matt made these (and more) amazing pieces that spread all over the room, light by candles they made dramitic displays.

I apologise my photos don't do it the credit its worth, my point and shoot doesn't perform well in the dark.
I almost forgot, I helped out creating the invites for the night. Lenya had a pretty good idea of what she wanted so this was a quick simple job for me.

Lenya bought me a picture of an invites she love that used handwritten font, so I hand drew the couples name than cleaned it up on the computer to use as a header the the rest was simple, clean and easy.

Brunch
Since I still have heaps of stuff I need to organize for the wedding I thought it appropriate to ignore all of that stuff and focus on the brunch. (joking still doing wedding stuff as well). The recovery brunch for me a a time to relax, eat too much food, talk, swim, kick around a foot ball and generally hang out together. I would still like it to look pretty as well, so I've put together an inspiration board of my thoughts so far.
Images sources 1st row: Sorry not sure where I found this been in my I LOVE folder for ages, this is mine and is the brunch venue, thayerphoto.com, snippetandink.blogspot.com

To Write or not to write
Been thinking about how to address the invites. Should I hand write in a modern calligraphy or should I use the fancy font from my invites and print directly on the envelopes?

Found these great examples by Paper Finger for hand written. Love these - however it would be very time consuming.

I heart this house
I hope my house looks this good and better yet each piece is bought for under $100, everything is from Thrift stores of flea markets.

found at design sponge online

Check out more on The Brick House
I need to spend more time in second hand stores. So many great pieces. C and I need almost everything - we aren't living together until after the wedding and we have a lot of furniture we are going to have to buy.
Love these guys think they are the best.

New Old stuff
A friend of mine just bought the cutes old house and is in the process of doing it up as we speak. I went over the other day to have a look and feel in love with some of the origin details, which I'm happy to say they are retaining. Such a great place and can't wait to see what it looks like after they finish. (Not the best Photos but you get the idea)

This detail on the roof in the hallway is great. I wasn't able to get photos of them all but most rooms have the original plaster work in perfect condition.

I love all old kitchen items, and this oven and stove top is no exception, (the oven even has a working rotisserie)

This is so cool. Who doesn't want a padded kitchen counter.

Guest book??
Not sure if I want a guest book or not, would I ever really ready it after the wedding. Its a nice idea and could look good. My other idea is to make a cute mock wedding certificate up that has witnessed by: than line for everyone to sign there names, it would look good, and it could be hang on the wall so I would look at it all the time.
great idea
Love this, would love to do something like this for invites - however not very practical for us. DIY instructions from project wedding.

More DIY
I'm going to diy my cake boxes, printing them at work, than assembling them myself. That way I can have design printed on them and they will still be cheap. I figure if I start them now a few each night and I'll have 80 done in no time.
I've made up 2 designs based on the designs we used for the save the dates and what we'll use for the invites. just need to pick one.

I got a delivery today with the materials I need for my diy resin vases. Very excited to try it out. So excited to be doing something creative and fun, have wanted to try this for ages.
I was looking around today to get some ideas on shapes and styles and found Resinate, some really nice organic shaped vases and spoons, nice colours too.
