No my dress

But wow, how amazing is it and the dress is an original from the 1950s, I would love to have had an old dress, love the history of them. And to top it all of the bride only bought the dress a week and a half before the wedding.

Me like

I was sent a link to .mycatwalk.com.au today now seriously want to shop. Look at this cuteness how could I not want it. And it would make such a good beach to bar outfit when I'm in Mexico.

Never in Oz

Ok so I'm starting to get very sad, I keep finding really great, fun, colourful clothing online and none of it is ever Australian, so sad. I'm am completely in love with the playful skirts and dress by Sika.

Image and dresses from Sika found though thebrokeassbride.com

And yes I do realise that they are all very similar, but hey if it aint broke don't fix it (and this shape looks good on me)

On a mission

I'm on a mission to find a retro one piece swimmer before summer. I've love them for ages but I've never really found any, this year their are lot more around, I haven't had much luck yet finding one I like and fits right - but I'm sure its out there and I will find it.

I absolutely love this one, the colour is great and the cute ruffle adds a little fun.

head wear...

I don't get it. Why when people get married do they feel the need to wear something on their head. It seems people feel the need to have something on their heads, if they don't wear a veil they have a fascinator, a hat, fresh flowers, a garland, headbands or hair jewellery. I know sometimes it finishes off the outfit or is part of a tradition they feel is important but I struggle to see why people feel they must have something in their hair, and stress over what to have. I'd love to see more people shun the bridal head wear, if its not right for you let your hair be naked I say.

Full discloser: I'm not going to be going naked, I'm going to wear a birdcage veil over my eyes, no feathers or flowers, probably just a brooche to hide the combs. Why, not because I feel I feel I have to wear something on my head but because it finishes off the look I'm after. I really want a vintage old world glam look.

Drew rocked the veil like the one I will make, though I think it will be a little smaller, only about halfway down my nose. Image found on www.dailymakeover.com

Anyway the reason I bring this up is because my MOH really wants to wear something in her hair, (she all has a desire to make everything matching). So what to do, I don't want to tell her not to wear something in her hair if she wants to but I don't want her to dress everyone up in matching head bands that look great on a 12 years but not so chic on a 25 year old and it needs to suit the outfits, I really don't want it to look out of place.

So now I'm searching for cool head wear, I never thought I'm be doing this, worrying about headwear... for bridesmaids. Anyone got any ideas.

Shoe love

I wasn't joking when I said I had a thing for shoes. I love them and in the process of looking for my wedding shoes I've found to had to my wish list, and todays 2 would have to be pretty high on that list.

I wish these Mimco badies came in a colour, I'd snap them up in a second (and figure out how to afford them later). The strap details is great, not over the top like so much of what I've been seeing.

Found on www.mimco.com.au

I'm keeping these shoes in mind as a back up plan incase I can't find red shoes I like. they would make really cute wedding shoes and i'd definately warm them all the time. Love the vintage feel.

dripping in jewls

I still haven't had any luck finding wedding jewellery yet. Originally I wanted art deco style jewellery, however I'm not having much luck finding anything that I either like or that's in my budget.

So I've been thinking about pearls, I wouldn't want anything too traditional, I like the idea of wearing a number of different string in all different sizes like this. Than I could get a bracelet similar and antique style pearl earrings.

kick up your dancing shoes

I could imagine myself kicking up my heels int these babies. A friend of mine has a pair (without the hearts) and says they a super comfy. Shoes that are comfy and have a super cute heart up the front would make a perfect wedding shoes, the bonus being they are totally wearable after the wedding. i just wish they had a red pair with black or white heart.

Wish list

Furiously saving for a 5 week honeymoon means no lavish spending on clothing...but I like to torture myself. Today while I wishfully dreamed of the dresses I would buy for my friends engagement party I stumbled across the beautiful designs of Rose and Ruby. All so dreamy and fun, perfect for a party or a wedding. The 1st and the last would be my pick.

Wish list

Just a few things I found around the place that I wouldn't mind finding myself owning.

minor hiccup

So we have our 1st minor hiccup this weekend. We went out to have all the boys fitted for suits and they looked bad. I know when you hire a suit you can't expect it to be perfect but the suits horrible, it looked liked they where wearing pants 3 sizes to big (but they where the right size). So we changed the suits, what else could we do?

So C and the boys will now be wearing darker suits and no jackets at all (expect if they want a photo with them on). C will be wearing a tie as well, he wants a fat light grey wool tie.

The new look

Anyone looking to hire a suit in Sydney should check out Spurlings in the next week or 2 they have a "Bridal Expo" special, so we got $70 off the price.

I got serious dress envy today when I saw these beauties by Collect Dinnigan.

i love these 2 dresses, what woman would look beautiful in something like this. If I could do it again I'd get one of these. I really do think we should do it again in 5 years.

All images and dresses by Collette Dinnigan Bridal check them out www.collettedinnigan.com.au

These are also amazing and I have a friend who would look perfect in this last one.

Every 5 years...

I think we should have another wedding, renew your vows or something. That way I could have a go at all the good ideas. I love short wedding dresses, I'm not sure I have the legs for one this short myself  I'd probably go for something more tea length - which I did look at when I was shopping. So stylish.

I want this veil so cute

Love it Love it

Love this, great great, great colour, great accessories.

This is the colour I want for my BM. The bracelet is an interesting idea as well, formal but casual, I could do something like this for the wedding. Would give me that relaxed, formal, playful, not overly planed up together took, might be a bit more me than what I have been looking at.

Confessions

I confess I love Carla Zampatti cloths, so beautiful girly, edgy, and from the most amazing material. LOVE IT.

Check out more at www.carlazampatti.com.au

I tried on a few dresses as possible wedding dresses, great for the budget unfortunately one didn't quite work for my body shape, the other I would have lost some of my favourite design features (because I'm really short) and I was worried about not having enough support up top and I felt I needed it.

Sometime I still think about that dress and wish I'd worked out a way to make it work. Don't get me wrong I love my dress - it makes me look tall and thin, its simple, a little sexy, moderen and it fits really well. The Carla Zampatti however was modern, edgy, fun, less traditional, and a little bit whimsical not to mention cheaper.
