minor hiccup

So we have our 1st minor hiccup this weekend. We went out to have all the boys fitted for suits and they looked bad. I know when you hire a suit you can't expect it to be perfect but the suits horrible, it looked liked they where wearing pants 3 sizes to big (but they where the right size). So we changed the suits, what else could we do?

So C and the boys will now be wearing darker suits and no jackets at all (expect if they want a photo with them on). C will be wearing a tie as well, he wants a fat light grey wool tie.

The new look

Anyone looking to hire a suit in Sydney should check out Spurlings in the next week or 2 they have a "Bridal Expo" special, so we got $70 off the price.

so happy

I'm so happy, C is the happiest man in the world tonight - why?

I gave him his engagement present tonight. I took him out to dinner to celebrate the end of exams and in between entree and main at the local Malaysian restaurant I gave him a small present. C was really surprised and thought it was just a little present to celebrate the end of exams, but after reading the card and opening the box he was really excited to see a 26mm eye piece for a telescope. He thought it was an eyepiece to use when we eventually were able to afford a telescope - I had to tell him and reassure him a number of times I was giving him the eyepiece to go with the telescope waiting for him back at home.

I should probably explain at this point that C is a supernerd and for the last 15 years (much longer than I've know him - 8 years) has dreamed of owning a telescope. Tonight I made his dream come true, and it was the best feeling I've ever had - I image this must be similar to how I felt when he proposed to me. With a very small gesture I was able to show him that his happiness and dreams were important to me and I would help him reach them. Even if that meant saving every penny for 5 months to do so.

I'm not sure that it's traditional or if its the correct budget savvy thing to do, but I do know that making C happy and seeing that smile tonight means more to me than anything else I've ever seen - I'd give up anything if I could make him smile like that everyday!

His word: My 2 great loves have come together tonight - I couldn't ask for more.

How can you not love him.

Just a thought

Have been thinking about what we can do to make C stand out and look different from the other boys. We had been tossing around the idea that only C would wear a tie and the rest would wear the suit and vest without a tie. Today I can across pictures from Nathan and Angelas wedding on oncewed.com and like this solution.

We could have all the boys wear ties and vest but no jackets and C could wear a different tie (I'm thinking a really fat tie) vest and Jacket. I even love the arms rolled up. The only problem is that when Craig takes the jacket off - and he's likely to take it off the minute the ceremony finished as he HATES the heat, he'll look like one of the groomsmen again.

Bling

C and I went shopping on the weekend and looked a ring options and tried some on to get a better idea of what we wanted.

C found this cool ring which I love, not what he 1st looked at but he really liked the look on. Getting it quoted now for this in titanium with a little diamond in the middle.

Also looked a options for me and C decided it had to be a diamond band, cool it was the guy insisting on diamonds, not the girl this time, I have to admit he's right the diamond band looks heaps better than the plain band. But we still need to decided on white or yellow diamonds for me.

My dress, his suit

So I said I had the dress, well ordered it at least. Once I get the dress I will be making some changes but this gives you a pretty good idea of what I'm working with.

I'm standing on a huge platform, I'm much shorter than this. I was also thinking of having the skirt straighten, might even have it hug my hips give it that vintage look I love.

And the groom will look dashing in...
1st one he tried on, everyone he put on afterward just didn't look as good. Got the vintage feel we love, its a bit more than just an everyday suit and when they take off the jacket the vest will keep them look different from all the guest. I'm happy.

Done

The save the dates are done, so happy, all I have to do is put them in the mail tomorrow morning.

I wish Mr C was here, 2 more days and he'll be back, can't wait when I wake up on Saturday morning he'll be here.

I have been thinking about a few things...

Like Socks, I know that seems strange but I was sorting socks at the time. Obviously C will need sock for the day, and a few days ago I saw this photo

www.cscottphotography.net

Great isn't it, its from budgetsavvybride.wordpress.com recent wedding and I love it. I thought we would do something like this, but its not really C, I'm lucky is he wears a matching pair of socks at the best of time. So not sure what I'll do

I've also been think about starting my own business, I know Crazy timing, but I like being busy and with C studying I have more free time than usual. And the extra money would come in handy for the honeymoon. I'll have to give it some more thought and maybe talk to a few people, but I think I'm going to start a new business.
